LOCATION:
Jalan Sultan Agung is located close to Sultan's Keraton. If you are from the green space (Alun Alun Lor) fronting Keraton's Pagelaran, walk north into Jalan Senopati. Jl Sultan Agung should start at the intersection of Jl Senopati, Jl Brigjen Katamso and Jl Mayor Suryotomo.

DESCRIPTION:
There is a fine selection of well-preserved colonial buildings along Jl Sultan Agong. To me, the most imposing one is the Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) building. A little further down the road are the equally exquisite Pakualaman Palace and Batik Museum.

Jl Sultan Agong also hosts parts of the campus of Universitas Gadjah Mada. Here, the highly-acclaimed tertiary institution has a biology museum which displays useful information on the types of flora and fauna found in Indonesia.

MY VERDICT:
Recommended for a short stroll to view the colonial buildings, museums and palace. Can be quite busy with vehicles.
