LOCATION:
Tosari is located within the Pasuruan District (Kabupaten). From Pasuruan town centre, the journey, normally by a jeep or 4WD takes about 1 hour, covering a distance of about 35km through steep mountain road and spectacular sceneries.

DESCRIPTION:

Tosari is a typical Tengger village located just in the outskirt of Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park. At an altitude of about 1,700m above sea level, the climate is cool all year round.

The town centre and surrounding areas can be covered on foot for a leisure walk while basking in the sights and sounds of Tenggerese undertaking their daily activities. With the pleasant weather that greets you, a quick stroll shouldn't be too much to ask.

The village's main town centre is rather basic, with a number of local shops and eateries, as well  as small inns and motels. The view throughout the village is breathtaking, especially in the early morning when the sky is clear and blue. The combination of village and hillside vegetable farming adds to the beauty.

If you get your bearing right, look up to the southwest to get an awe-inspiring vista of Mount Arjuno-Welirang. By any standard, the vegetable and fruit farming along the hill slopes is extensive. The villagers literally do not leave any empty lots. Every acre is filled with life-sustaining vegetation that goes as far as the kitchens in Surabaya, Malang or Probolinggo.

MY VERDICT:
Beautiful village and breathtaking view.
