LOCATION:
Grand Mercure Yogyakarta is located along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. It is walking distance to the Tugu Monumen on Jalan Mangkubumi, as well as Jalan Malioboro.

From Adisucipto Airport, it takes about 15 minutes by taxi to get to this hotel. Taxi rates are between Rp10.000 to Rp20.000.

DESCRIPTION:
By first impression, the swimming pool is not particularly large. Nonetheless, it is well-maintained with adequate greenery and not-too-excessive stone decorations. You can expect a decent few laps of swimming here, if nothing else.

There are a number of relaxing chairs provided by the pool. Actually, the view is quite mesmerizing with colonial-style hotel rooms and exquisite balconies overlook the pool, you will feel being transported back to the old days.

If you don't have much things to do, don't forget to check out the pool at night. The lighting effects from the pool itself, the garden and the balconies are quite spectacular.

MY VERDICT:
Marvelous architecture. Great price, centrally located to almost everything Yogyakarta has to offer. The guest services are just as good and friendly.
