LOCATION: From Adisucipto Airport, it takes about 15 minutes by taxi to get to this hotel. Taxi rates are between Rp10.000 to Rp20.000. Nonetheless, not all portions of the hotel are old. The newer wings at the back of the compound are recently built, but they still carry the same colonial theme with a well-balanced touch of contemporary and boutique-style design. The main feature of this hotel, apart from the well-preserved colonial-influenced building, is the open-air courtyard right in the middle between the old and new wings. There is an exquisite Javanese stone-carved fountain that provides a soothing feature for passersby and patrons of the nearby restaurants. Javanese-style decorations are used extensively throughout the establishment. The most interesting feature for me are the Javanese statues of man and woman in seating position with their traditional dresses. The stone carvings as wall decoration are just equally exquisite and pleasing. You can also find wall relief at the hotel's parking lot. MY VERDICT: | ||
